How to Watch TeraBox Videos on a PC or Laptop (No Download)

29 October 2026 · 3 min read

Windows or Mac, any browser: the quickest way to play a TeraBox link on a computer, plus keyboard shortcuts, full screen, and what to do when a laptop stutters on a file a phone plays fine.

The quickest way on any computer

  1. Copy the TeraBox link.
  2. Open teraboxsync.com and paste it into the box. Press Enter.
  3. The video plays on the page.

No desktop app, no account. The TeraBox website itself will preview some files on a computer, but its player is basic and the preview is often limited to the first few minutes for people who aren't signed in.

Windows: Chrome, Edge and Firefox

All three work. Edge is quietly the best choice on Windows for video — it has the broadest built-in codec support, so files that show "format not supported" in Firefox sometimes just play in Edge. Chrome is fine for almost everything.

If you use Brave or a strict ad blocker, allow the site: some blockers stop the video stream itself.

Mac: Safari and Chrome

Safari uses Apple's own video engine and handles these files very well, including HEVC. Chrome on Mac is equally fine. Nothing to configure.

Watching full screen and using keyboard shortcuts

Click the full-screen icon or press F. The player has YouTube-style shortcuts:

Key Does
Space or K Play / pause
← / → Back / forward 5 seconds
↑ / ↓ Volume
M Mute
F Full screen
T Theatre mode (wider player)
I Picture-in-picture
, / . Slower / faster

Picture-in-picture is useful on a laptop: the video floats in a small window while you do something else.

Downloading to your computer instead

Under the player there's a Download button. It saves the original file to your Downloads folder. Before starting, we check the file is complete — some shares only expose a short preview, and we'd rather tell you than let you download a 30-second clip thinking it's the full thing.

For files over a gigabyte, a download manager (Free Download Manager, or IDM on Windows) can resume if your connection drops. More on failed downloads.

Why the desktop TeraBox app isn't necessary

TeraBox has a Windows and Mac app, and it's good at what it's for: syncing a folder of your own files. For watching something a friend shared it adds a login, a large install, and nothing you don't get in a browser tab. Install it if you upload; skip it if you only view.

If the video stutters on your laptop

A laptop that stutters on a file a phone plays fine is almost always one of these:

  • Hardware decoding is off. In Chrome, check chrome://gpu — if "Video Decode" says Software only, enable hardware acceleration in Chrome's settings and restart it.
  • The browser is on battery saver. Windows and macOS both throttle video decoding to save power. Plug in, or switch the power mode.
  • 1080p on an old integrated GPU. Pick 480p from the gear icon. On a 13-inch screen the difference is small.
  • Too many tabs. Video decoding competes with everything else. Close the heavy ones.

Common questions

Can I play a TeraBox link in VLC on my PC?

Yes, by downloading first. The streaming URLs behind a link are short-lived and tied to a session, so pasting them into VLC's network stream usually fails. Here's the VLC guide.

Does it work on a Chromebook?

Yes — it's just Chrome. The same shortcuts apply.

Does it work on Linux?

Yes, in Firefox or Chromium. Firefox on Linux occasionally lacks H.264 support out of the box; install the ffmpeg package and restart it.
