How to Share a TeraBox Link So It Opens for Everyone

29 October 2026 · 2 min read

For the sender, for once. The one setting that decides whether your link works, how to find it on Android, iPhone and the website, and a message to send alongside the link so nobody has to ask.

The one setting that decides whether your link works

When you share a file, TeraBox asks who can open it: Anyone with the link, or specific people. Choose the first. Every "your link isn't working" message you've ever received was the second.

Everything else on this page is detail.

Sharing from the Android app

  1. Long-press the file → Share (or the share icon).
  2. In the sheet, make sure the option says Anyone with the link / Public. If it says Private or lists names, tap it and change it.
  3. Copy link, then paste wherever you're sending it.

Optional: set a password here if you want one. If you do, send the code with the link — people can't guess it.

From iPhone

Same flow. The share sheet looks slightly different (iOS style) but the public/private choice is in the same place, under the link. Check it before you copy.

From the website

Right-click the file (or tick it) → Share → confirm it's public → copy. The website shows the share's status in the list afterwards, which makes it easy to spot a private one.

Removing the password

If you set a password and it's causing more questions than it's worth: open the file's share settings and clear it. Existing links keep working; they just stop asking for the code.

Why your friend sees an error and you don't

Because you're logged in as the owner. A private share opens for you every time, which makes it look fine. Test your link in a private browsing window (where you're not logged in) before sending it — if it opens there, it'll open for anyone.

Other things that break links after sending: moving the file to another folder (the link points at the old location), cancelling the share while tidying up, and deleting it. What each error means for the receiver.

A message template to send with your link

Here's the video: [link] It's a TeraBox link — you don't need the app. Paste it at teraboxsync.com and press play. Code (if it asks): [code]

That last line prevents the most common reply.

Common questions

Can I see who opened my link?

TeraBox shows a view count on shared files, not who. If that matters, share with specific people instead — they'll need accounts.

Does a public link mean anyone on the internet can find it?

No. Public means anyone with the link. Nobody can search for it. Sharing it in a large group is how it spreads, if it spreads.

Why does my link have "?pwd=" in it?

Because you set a password and TeraBox put it in the link for convenience. That means anyone with the link also has the code — fine for friends, not what you want if the code was the point.
