How to Watch TeraBox Videos on a Smart TV

29 October 2026 · 3 min read

Chromecast, Fire Stick, Android TV, Apple TV, and the TV's own browser — which actually work, which are a fight, and the one boring method that works on every TV ever made.

The easiest route: cast from your phone

Play the video in our player on your phone, then cast the browser tab to the TV. The TV shows the video; your phone is the remote. This works with Chromecast and most Android TVs from Chrome on Android, and with Apple TV via AirPlay from an iPhone.

Honest caveat before you start: casting a browser tab re-encodes the video on your phone and sends it over Wi-Fi. It works, but it's a step down in quality and smoothness from playing a file natively. For a one-off it's fine. For regular use, the USB method at the bottom is better than it sounds.

Chromecast, step by step

  1. Phone and TV on the same Wi-Fi.
  2. In Chrome on Android, open the video in our player and start it.
  3. Tap the three dots → Cast… → pick the Chromecast.
  4. Rotate the phone for full screen; the TV follows.

On iPhone, Chrome can't cast tabs. Use AirPlay to an Apple TV, or a Chromecast-with-Google-TV's own browser (below).

Android TV / Google TV

These have a browser, but it's hidden. Install one from the Play Store on the TV (Puffin TV or TV Bro both work with a remote), open our site, and paste the link with the remote's on-screen keyboard. Fiddly to type, but playback is native and smooth — much better than casting.

Tip: shorten the typing by casting the link instead: open our site on the TV browser, then send the link from your phone to the TV via a notes app or Google Keep and copy it there.

Amazon Fire Stick

Install the Silk browser from the Fire Stick's app store, open our site, paste the link. Silk handles video well. Same typing fiddliness as Android TV; same tip applies.

Apple TV

No browser on Apple TV. AirPlay from an iPhone or Mac: play the video in Safari, tap AirPlay, choose the Apple TV. Quality is good — AirPlay of a video stream (as opposed to screen mirroring) sends the actual file.

Smart TV built-in browsers (Samsung, LG, Sony)

They exist, and they struggle. Samsung's and LG's browsers are years behind on video support; some play our files, some don't, and the remote makes typing painful. Try it if it's the only option; expect to fall back to casting or USB.

The reliable fallback: download and use a USB stick

Press Download under the player on a computer, copy the file to a USB stick, plug it into the TV. Every TV made in the last decade plays MP4 from USB, at full quality, with no Wi-Fi involvement and no stutter.

It's not glamorous. It is the method we'd pick for a film night.

TV-specific problems

  • Cast starts, then stops after a minute. Wi-Fi congestion. Move the router or switch the phone to the 5 GHz band.
  • No sound on the TV. The video uses an audio codec the TV can't decode (common with downloaded files on older TVs). VLC on a Fire Stick or Android TV plays everything.
  • Subtitles missing. Casting a tab doesn't carry a subtitle file. Use the USB route with the .srt next to the video.

Common questions

Is there a TeraBox app for smart TVs?

Not an official one for TV platforms. Casting or a TV browser is how it's done.

Can I cast from an iPhone to a Chromecast?

Not a browser tab. Use AirPlay to an Apple TV, or install a browser on the Chromecast with Google TV itself.

Will casting use my mobile data?

If the phone is on Wi-Fi, no. Casting needs Wi-Fi anyway.
